I Really Need You
JENNIE and I were friends. We were having the same ini everything favourite color, actor, singer, even we had a crush on the same boy. Could imagine that? Everybody always thought that we are twins, but our last name is different. I always hoping Jennie my twin, but in never happen.
The boy we liked named Jonas. He’s in our class and he sat two behind us. Did I mention Jennie and I always sit together? Jonas really great in Mandarin and sports, while I’m great in English and Math. Jennie’s not really great, but she also loves the teachers, just
like I do.
One day, I really confused with the Mandarin lesson. I didn’t know how to write Mandarin alphabets and I always get it wrong with the stripes and I was so angry with myself. All of sudden someone hit my back with a book. “Hei, watch it.” I shouted. When I turned to
see who hit me, Jonas was laughing. He stood behind me.
“Need a hand,” he asked. His voice sounded like a melody to my ears. His black eyes stunned me, and his smile shut may mouth. All I could do is nodded my head, and he began to have a look at my book. After a few moments, he looked at me and said,”To be honest, actually you already got the point. You just didn’t know how to do it. Got it! Now, could you move over, so I can show you how to do it!
“Oh….sure,” I answered. So, he sat on my chair and I stood beside him, plus he helped me. Oh my God!!! When the lesson’s over, Jonas called my name, for the first time. “Hey, Diana…do you still didn’t understand the Mandarin.”
I was so surprised. “Well, actually,yes….Sorry.” Jonas laughed again. “It’s
ok. It’s hard for me on the first time after I studied the either. Hey..I had an idea. Would you mind if I call you tonight.” Am I dreaming? He asked me if he could call me?
“No..problem. Ok..let’s see..around 7. “
’Yeah, that’s fine with me. Ok, se you later at 7.”
Jonas smiled anda left Jennie, who sat just beside me, looked at me jealously.
“Hey, he didn’t like you, didn’t he,” Jennie asked.
“Hmmmm…I don’t know,” I answered.
“If you like him and he liked you, don’t think I’am going to be afraid to cut our friendship.”
“What? You couldn’t be serious,” I almost shouted.
“In fact. I’m really serious. I warned you, if you both like each other, leave him. Leave him for me! I should be the one who had him.” Then, Jennie left me.

“GOOD morning.” I greeted Jennie, pretended to forget what happened yesterday. “Hiii..,” she answered. Then, she asked,”So..how’s last night.”“Well, if you’re asking about Jonas,” I answered. “Actually, it was fun. He explained the lesson clearly. Even by phone. We even joked and talked together.”
“Hahahha, sure it’s fun,” Jennie answered. Something’s not right. I could tell it by Jennie pronounciation. She seemed…angry!
“Are you jealous to me,” I asked carefully.
“Not just jealous, Diana. I’m angryto you,” she shouted at me. “Your are my friend, right! If you’re my friend, don’t talk to him anymore.” I really couldn’t bend my emotions this time.
“No way! Whu I shouldn’t talk to him anymore? We even didn’t know if he liked me or not! You’re not my mother. You couldn’t shout at me to tell me whom should I talk to! We never promised to each other about this. That I should leave him one I became closer to him!
I shouted until I sweated. I really, really angry to her this time. “Ok, you have chosen your own away. Don’t talk to me again, until you can leave him for me. I don’t care I have to be the one who won him. Remember that! Until you can leave him, don’t even dream I want to sit beside your or talk to you anymore,” Jennie shouted back at me and left me.
I really surprised. I knew she’s angry, but I never saw he angry until she shouted at me like this. Now I didn’t have any seatmate. What should I do? When I’m thinking about my choice, whether I have to leave Jonas, or do I have to keep my words, Jonas sat beside me. He hit me (again), and asked what happened. “Hey, I heard you fight with Jennie. What happened to you two? I thought you guys never fight.”
I smiled to him (sadly) and answered. “We fought sometimes, but this time is different. It’s ridiculous, actually.” Jonas moved closer to me and asked,”Would you mind to tell me about it.” I really surprised, because he really care about me, eve he asked about my problem, but if I tell him, that means, I tell him my feeling about him.
“Ok, Diana,” I told myself . “Told Jonas what happened, and you don’t have to worry about your stupid friend anymore. Go ahead and tell him. Tell him that you’re much better thant that fool, crazy girl.” Here’s the thing…, and I began to tell him what happened, until I came to part when Jennie and I shouted to each other this morning. “Wait, who is the boy that you two liked? Tell me…please. I won’t tell this to the other, I swear,” he pleased to me.
I took a deeo breath, blew and said,”It was…you Jonas.” He seemed very surprised. But, I could see his face blushed red. So, I quickly apologized to him. “Sorry…I didn’t mean to..”
“No..worries. It’s not a problem,” Jonas said happily. “Now, it’s me who surprised. Actually, Diana, I want to say something…actually….” He stopped and looked at me. “I like to you too….”
I could feel my face blushed red, but quickly I said. “Thanks God.”
“Now, since you knew we liked each other, would you mind if I became your seatmate,” he asked me. “Why not! Come on. Should I sat beside you or should you sat beside me,” I asked him back. “I thought I should sit beside you. Jennie already moved, and I thought I’m your new seatmate now.” He answered and smiled.
It was Agatha. She smiled at me and asked,”Hey, Di, would you mind if you joind us? I mean, not just me. But together with Angie and Charlotte. Do you want to join us.”
“Sure, oh..could we become friends? From now and forever,” I asked them. “Why not! That’s a great idea. Right, guys,” asked Angie to Carlotte and Agatha.
Great..I told myself. You ‘threw’ one of your best friends and got three new best friends. I spent the break time to tell them what happened me and Jennie.
“Jonas, huh. Yup, he’s one the CSBE member,” said Charlotte.
“CSBE,” I asked.
“Coolest,
Smartest Boys Eve,” Agatha answered. “The truth is, actually, three of us are CBSE members girlfriends. After you joined us, that means four of us are CSBE members girlfriends.”
“Wait…then you guys asked me to join your group because I’am Jonas girlfriend now,” I asked. “Because…none of you ever speak to me before…Your talked to me since you
know I’am Jonas girlfriend.”
“No…Jonas is not the reason,” said Agatha. “Nope…not him, Diana. It’s Jennie,” Charlotte continued.
“Jennie,” I asked surprisingly.
“Yup, actually, we want to be your friends from the first time, but Jennie always bend us. She warned us, if we asked you to be in our groups, she will quit from our group,” Angie answered.
“Wait…Jennie was one of your group members,” I asked.
“Yes, but she always act like she’s the leader. We didn’t like her, but we keep patient, since we never find anybody else better,” Charlotte answered.
“That’s why she always bends us when we told her that we want you to be in our group. She’s afraid we will ‘kick’ her out if you are one of us,” Agatha continued.
“But, finally we set a plan to ‘kick’ her out. We didn’t talk to her for about one day. Finally, on the second day…,” Angie said.
“She pretended to be my friend,” I continued.
“Yes, the, she always want to me you happy, right? She always finds a reason to ‘block’ you from us. But when she knew you liked Jonas as well…,” Agatha said.
“She blocked my way…yeah. You don’t have to mention it again..,” I continued again.
All that time the bell ring. “Oh my God, c’mon. Lets go, we don’t want to be late for the Math class,” Angie warned us.
I told Jonas about Agatha and her friends after break time. Jonas laughed. “Yeah..Charlotte, Agatha anda Angie are Michael, Robert and Timmy’s girlfriends. And, about CSBE, that should be a secret. But now, it’s not a secret anymore. Wow, why should I afraid if everyone knows about CSBE! We are the coolest, smartest, boys ever, right.”
“Smartest, yeah, but what does the ‘coolest’ do there,” I asked Jonas naughtily.
“Coolest? Well. I am the coolest boy since my girlfriend is the most beautiful girl here.”
He looked ata me and smiled. I smiled at him as well. After that, I knew my life is going to be better, from now and forever.
“STUDENT, we are going to go to Bali in two weeks. Please, prepare your needs, we
are going to stay ther for 4 days and 3 nights,” said Mrs Elle, our Math teacher.
“Yay!! All the students cheered. Jonas looked at me and asked. “Want to go alone? Just two of us? “What, you’re crazy. No way,” I answerede. “Just kidding..I don’t want to do that either,” Jonas continued.
“I can’t wait for the trip,” shouted Agatha at break
time. “And I couldn’t wait to walk together with Michael at the
beach..’” said Charlotte. “What…you’re going to do that,” asked Angie.
“Of course not. I’m just kidding,” answered Charlotte.
I just laughed at them. How could I always think Jennie is my best friend? They’re even better than Jennie. They’r my BFF, and I wouldn’t forget them forever.
Finally, the day is here. We’re going to go to Bali, but the teacher said. “Sorry students, the bus isn’t fit for all of us. So, number 1-20 will enter the first bus, and number 21-40 will
enter the second bus. C’mon now, quickly.”
That means I’m not at the same bus with Jonas. And, Jennie’s in the same busa with him. ‘It’s ok, Diana, Angie, Agatha, and Charlotte, are not with Timmy, Robert anda Michael either. Besides, it’s only three hours trip. After that, we got 96 hours together at Bali.

OUR teacher grabbed the megaphone. The bus driver also turned our bus. What happened? “Students, pay attention please. Let uas pray for our friends at the second bus. Their bus jumped out from the bridge. The green bridge tha we passed an hour ago? Remember? Now, the policemen are trying to evacuate the bus, hopely our friends survive. Oh…hol on a
minute…”“Jump out from bridge? The, how about Jonas? How about Jennie? How about my friends’ boyfriends?
“Students, I’m really, really sorry about this. The policemen already evacuated the bus, and there are no survivors. Now, we’re going back to school, and school really, really sorry that your trip to Bali must be cancelled,” Mrs Elle said sadly.
A week later. For of us feell really sad about our boyfriends. We will never see them again.
Charlotte hurts herself more, with keep playing music and read Michael’s love letter thousand times. Angie cried every time she remembered Timmy.
Agatha became very quiet at school. She won’t talk except if you ask her something. Me? I did the worst. Because I had lost two people : Jonas and Jennie. Even Jennie is really mean to us, I still had good memories with her.
Just in case, I couldn’t bend my sadness. Finally, I couldn’t hold any longer. I cried when I’m decided to suicide. I will join Jonas there, and I will feel happier. I cried until I fell asleep. I dreamnt in my dream, and it changed my mind.
I’m in a Sakura Garden. The Sakura flowers are falling everywhere.While I’am walking around that garden, Jonas hugged me from behind. “Are you happy,” I asked, but Jonas answered,”No, I really not happy. You’re not here beside me. I really missed you. I really do.”
“So…can I join you,” I said. “ShouldI go to a place where we can be together.” I want to see him better. I shouted ini my heart. So, I turned my body. I can see his face. Yes, I still recognize him. His voice sounded like a melody to my ears. His black eyes stunned me, and his smile shut my mouth.
But, he cried, and he said,”No..no..Diana, don’t join me. You still get chances to fix your mistakes and do a lot fo better things than join me. You can go to Bali. You can have another boyfriend then got married and have children…please….don’t chase me…I’am begging you.”

On the stage, the MC asked,”Diana, now you had a pass to the best university in the world. Who always cheered you and spirited you to win this scholarship? Because you know, that more than 300 senior high students are willing to win this scholarship.”
I took the microphone. “First, of course to God, who always blessed me with his love, so I can live and study hard until now. Second, to my family, who always cheered me up, so I could won this scholarship.
Third oen…,” I stopped, took a deep breath. “To Jonas Nomado, who always here beside me, who encourage me to win this scholarship. Also, to my best friends, Agatha, Angie, anda Charlotte, who taught me the meaning of friendship, and also to Jennie, who taught me not to be selfish.
